Protecting the planet is a pretty big deal. So we take it seriously.

How we work

At Monika The Label we support a clean and fair fashion industry. We believe in quality over quantity, and think the future lies in the circular economy. We produce limited runs and encourage you to reuse, recycle and reinvent our pieces for years to come. You can also rent Monika the Label on By Rotation

Local manufacturing

We have a totally transparent supply chain and only work with one North London factory who follow ethical principles. This means we can keep our carbon emissions low and support British business. Our tees are printed by the gals over at Wild & Kind in Glasgow, Scotland. They provide an ethical direct to garment printing service using only 100% organic or recycled garments. Good vibes only go into our clothes.

Eco-friendly fabrics

Our garments are made from biodegradable silk, organic cotton and Regenesis Satin, an OEKTO TEX-certified material made from recycled plastic bottles. We make our digital prints using Azo water-based, non-toxic and dye-free inks. For our buttons, we use Corozo nuts that have naturally fallen from Tagua palm trees. This helps reduce deforestation. We’re saving the rainforest one slip dress at a time baby.

Recyclable packaging

Every order we send out arrives at your door in fully recyclable packaging. From the delivery box down to the pink ribbon we use to attach our hang tags. All orders also now come packaged in eco- friendly Hydropol™️ Garment Bags. These special bags are compostable, biodegradable and recyclable. They cause no harm to marine life or the environment, leaving behind only harmless biomass. You can also dissolve the bags for yourself in hot water for immediate disposal.

Charity partners

Last year we donated profits from our face masks to the Healthcare Workers’ Foundation as well as YoungMinds, a charity that makes sure every young person gets the mental health support they need, when they need it. This year all proceeds from our Guppyfriend bags will be donated to STOP! MicroWaste, a non-profit helping to clean beaches of plastic waste and educate people about plastic pollution.
